Crysis Warhead Gets Steamed

Original makes it onto Valve online platform

18 Sept 2008

Crytek's follow-up to Crysis, dubbed Warhead, is hitting Valve's online games platform, Steam, today.

The game was made available for US gamers yesterday, while the worldwide launch is set for today. Additionally, the first Crysis game is also up for grabs.

Warhead will set you back $29.99 (€21, or £16) while Crysis costs $39.99 (€28, or £22). Alternatively, you can get both for $69.98 (€48, or £38) - the exact amount you'd pay to get them separately.

In terms of the specs... Well, if you could play the first Crysis, which notoriously required a very top-end PC, you can play this. If you couldn't... tough luck. It would seem the attitude over at Crytek is summed up by Bernd Diemer, the game's producer. The Chicago Tribune's website paraphrases his as saying, "the past 10 months should have been enough time for gamers to get their computers up to speed."

In spite of that, only around a quarter of Dell PCs are up to scratch for playing Crysis.

The minimum specs for Warhead read as follows:
