Dead Space is Golden

In a dark, scary kind of way...

2 Oct 2008

Electronic Arts has declared to the world that its first survival horror game, Dead Space, has gone gold.

The publisher also said that for the first two weeks of release, players will be able to download platform-exclusive suits. The 360 one gets the title 'Elite Suit', while the PS3 version is dubbed the 'Obsidian Suit'.

The company also detailed the limited edition package for 360 owners in the US, called the "Dead Space Ultra Limited Edition". Normally, SPOnG would want to kick EA for a title like that, but since it will be limited to 1,000 copies and actually features some pretty good stuff, we're prepared to let it go. Inside will be the Dead Space graphic novel, the animated movie, a bonus content DVD, a 97-page art book, a lithograph illustrated and signed by Ben Templesmith, the (very good) artist on the graphic novel and an Ishimura crew patch for you to sew onto your speedos.

Not a bad haul, really. It will cost Americans $149.95 (€108, or £85), however.

All that means, of course, that the game's on schedule to hit shops on October 24th, as EA promised a month ago.
