LittleBigPlanet Leaping Onto PSP?

Job listing hints 'yes'!

2 Oct 2008

A job listing has turned up that suggests LittleBigPlanet is bound for the PSP.

The listing is for a 'PSP Game Engine Lead' to "Work on the development of exciting new LittleBigPlanet projects."

Note the fact that that's "projects" - plural.

This could be a couple of things. The obvious one is a full LittleBigPlanet game for the PSP. This would make darned good sense for Sony. The PSP has, let's face it, been flagging. Getting such a hyped property onto the handheld would certainly be a boon.

The other possibility is some sort of cross-platform functionality between the PS3 game and the PSP, perhaps enabling owners of both to twiddle with their creations on the go or get involved with the community side of it.

It could also, of course, be all of the above.

Unsurprisingly, Sony has dished up a "No comment" on the matter.

The job listings also reveal a couple of other things. One is reference to "A brand new social gaming title for the PlayStation 3 platform". SPOnG hopes that "Brand new" can be translated to 'not another Buzz! sequel'...

The other point of interest is the need for an "Experienced Games Designer" to work on "An original IP PSP project."
