Here's a quirky one from the world where politics and video games collide - and we don't mean in President Elect Obama's Burnout appearances. UK government Under-Secretary, Barbera Follet* recently responded to a question from Tory member, Jeremy Hunt**, regarding "which keywords or terms his Department (Culture, Media & Sport) has monitored in the media in each of the last three years".

Included in a list of some 90 words and phrases including, 'Lap dancing' and 'drugs in sport' were:

"Video and Computer Games (Only substantive stories not a passing mention.)"
"Video and computer games (Only in connection with industry news, education and violent or controversial games.)"
"Byron Review."

Bear in mind that this is not some secret list used by top-notch spies. It is only "currently used to supply press cuttings" according to Mrs Follett.

Still, lap dancing and video games? It sounds like the DCMS has been indulging in too much Grand Theft Auto IV and Saints Row 2.

* Parliamentary Under-Secretary (Culture; Minister for the East of England), Department for Culture, Media & Sport; Stevenage, Labour... phew.
** Shadow Secretary of State for Culture, Media & Sport, Culture, Media & Sport; South West Surrey, Conservative... phew again.
