Yes, we know this is just a way to get consumers to buy Wii Fit now rather than wait, but you've got to give it to Reggie: it's a straight-out admission that supply won't meet demand. We don't get many straight-out admissions from any of the platform holders.
Reggie also made a rare noise about Nintendo's approach (or lack of it) to community. While not giving away much, he suggests that the company has something big up its sleeve.
"Nintendo has always had a vision on community", Reggie said to Forbes news agency. "The issue is that we define community differently than our competitors. ... Our consumers do want a sense of community, and we're going to deliver that but in a way that is unique to Nintendo."
Fancy saying that as the Xbox's NXE arrives tomorrow (or today), and Sony continues to make Homely noises.

Big news being Microsoft finally realised what a joke it was to buy Rare because it was out of spite to hurt Nintendo and Nintendo are getting Rare back?
Face it personally I think Rare would be a huge success on the Wii but I think Microsoft know that too...

Eeuh, Nintendo wanted to get rid of Rare though, they were getting too expensive and took too long to finish their games. Also, Nintendo does not buy teams just for laughs, they only buy teams with who they allready have a partnership with and share somewhat the same design values. In short: Nintendo will not ever buy Rare back.
Also the reason why Rare sucked after the take-over was that they lost Nintendo's support. Just look at all the teams that had strong ties with Nintendo in the past but severed them this gen. They all went down the gutter. Working with Nintendo is a blessing for most teams because Nintendo always sends over some senior engineers and designers to help. But it seems it's a influence that doesn't stay with a team when that support is severed.
The Rare-magic of old was actually Nintendo-magic with a British twist.
I love the way people started to moan about Nintendo not buying rare, when in fact most of rare's top developers left to set up Free Radical Design (i.e. timesplitters etc..) - there was nothing left to purchase except game licences.
