The venerable Time magazine has put out its Top 10 Everything of 2008, with Grand Theft Auto IV topping the games list. For some reason best known to Time columnist, Lev Grossman, Wiil Wright's SPORE also sprints into the list. It probably does this as fast on three legs and weighing 5,000kg as it would on one leg and weighing 60kg - but that, apparently, is evolution... according to SPORE.

While Rockstar's game topping the list won't surprise anyone, the Wii's absence might. The only game on the Wii that made the Top 10 is Star Wars: The Force Unleashed. Since that was released on every format under the sun (Andy SPOnG swears he even saw a NES version) that's not really what you'd call a win for Nintendo.

Elsewhere in the list we get a flash game (Hunted Forever) an iPhone title (Fieldrunners) and an Xbox Live release (Braid) - another sign that the wind of change is blowing in a box-free direction...

You can see the Top 10 in full below.

1. Grand Theft Auto IV (PS3, 360, PC)
2. Braid (360)
3.LittleBigPlanet (PS3)
4. Rock Band 2 (360, PS3)
5. Gears of War 2 (360)
6. Dead Space (360, PS3, PC)
7. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed (Wii, 360, PS3, DS, PSP)
8. Hunted Forever (free Flash)
9. Fieldrunners (iPhone)
10. Spore (PC)

Lev Grossman is probably gay...probably, the saving grace from being actually gay is that Army of Two isn't in that list.
