Koller points out that, "With the lineup for 2009 and 2010, the PS2 is not going away anytime soon". He also states the wisdom of SCEA head, Jack Tretton, who believes that "the only way to kill the PS2 business is to stop supporting it".
Also, as with the PS3, don't expect price cuts for the PS2. Says Koller, "We've looked at a variety of options, and I think we're pleased with where we are; it's a significant financial contributor for us and it sells very well at $129.99. We're comfortable with the current price".
Well, at least the elder console is contributing to Sony's bottom line.
