Electronic Arts has taken the lid off its next Stephen Spielberg collaboration - BOOM BLOX Bash Party.

Since the venerable Mr Spielberg is involved, we'll let him introduce it - “BOOM BLOX Bash Party is a wild social gaming experience”, he uttered. “We know families and friends really enjoyed playing the original BOOM BLOX together, so we designed more explosive multiplayer experiences with BOOM BLOX Bash Party.”

So there you have it - big emphasis on the multiplayer. New on that front is team-based play, with twice the number of multiplayer challenges available. Players will also be able to share their own levels online, pushing the community aspect of the game.

Also new to the party will be further block types and shapes as well as new characters that are actually blox themselves.

That a second BOOM BLOX game exists has been known for a while, but this is the first time EA has dished up details.
