Okay, we know it's not games related, so don't come onto the Forum and berate us for it. However, when former Microsoft CEO Bill Gates looses locusts into a crowd of worthies at a meeting, it has to be reported.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald, Gates did exactly that at a recent TED (technology, entertainment and design) conference.

The SMH reports that Facebook manager Dave Morin twittered, "Bill Gates just released mosquitos into the audience at TED and said 'Not only poor people should experience this,' ."

Apparently, however, the locusts were "not malarial".

Actually, what do we mean "not game related"? Microsoft, Locusts? It's a Gears promo!

Spong your asking to get berated on this and I think its pathetic that you don't go into detail on what the article if this is even an article on about.

Bill Gates and his wife do charity work and I am pretty sure its about Maleria and poor countries that suffer from such problems...

And its not funny either Spong.

Leave charity work and gaming out of the mix.

SS4 - I think you'll find that we've just brought the TED conference and the charity work to a wider audience without being po-faced about it. Hence the link in the story.

Why? What possible reason is there to separate charity work from gaming?

It's usually me who gets the "Humour FAIL" assertions...

Cheers

Heaven forbid anybody mix up games and charity - that would be madness.
