Microsoft is continuing to push the Xbox 360 in Europe as an entertainment centre with a deal it's signed off with Universal Studios. The full list of movies available for £2.50 per-pop rental using the console is at the end of this story. The rental fee enables users to store and playback their film for up to 14 days.

The deal brings Universal (NBC Universal to be exact) into the Xbox 360 fold with Warners and Paramount. And yes, it is a European agreement with UK and Irish gamers (movie watchers?) able to get at content today. France, Germany and Spain will follow.

Microsoft also previewed its delayed PrimeTime multi-player quiz show, described by Neil Thompson (senior regional director Entertainment & Devices Division in Europe) as "Saturday night family experience, more involving than just watching the TV."
