Star Ocean Springs Forth Confusion
Not delayed, says Square
Posted 5 Mar 2009

Contrary to some reports, Star Ocean: The Last Hope has not been delayed, according to Square. Some of us just don't know when spring is, apparently...
Responding to a CVG story claiming that the RPG was delayed since it is now confirmed for a June release, a Square rep has told VG247, “The game has not been delayed”.
Explaining, the rep went on, “We announced Star Ocean: The Last Hope would be released during spring in January of this year. We use the summer solstice on June 21st as the official start of summer, so by announcing the game will be released in June, it is still on schedule to technically be released in our interpretation of spring.”
Those who thought the game was late were obviously going by the sloppier, more populist interpretation of when spring is. According to the Glossary of Meteorology - "In popular usage and for most meteorological purposes, spring is customarily taken to include the months of March, April, and May in the Northern Hemisphere". SPOnG certainly doesn't want to quibble over it.
Either way, Square had best get the game out in the first two thirds of June if it doesn't want to be late...
