It's official - The Beatles: Rock Band, the upcoming MTV Games/Harmonix/EA's upcoming music game based on that band that time, will be out on the 9th of September. That's everywhere. Well, Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand.

The game's platforms have been confirmed as PS3, Xbox 360 and the Wii.

The game, as you may well already know, takes the Rock Band experience and gives it a big old splash of The Beatles, taking players right through their career.

It was also confirmed in the announcement that there will be a "limited number" of new peripherals modelled on those used by the Fab Four throughout their careers.

Also given a mention was the fact that Giles Martin, co-producer of The Beatles' LOVE album is filling the role of Music Producer for the game.

Expect a pre-order campaign offering "exclusive content", too. Whether we'll get one in the UK (or it will be limited to the US) has yet to be confirmed.
