EA: Games for Fun not Graphics Whores
Fun and game-play, say what?

Speaking to MCV, Moore states, "It’s not about the detail in the shirts and being able to smell the grass anymore. It’s about having fun and how the games feel."
He continues to explain the impact of the Wii...
"You can’t ignore the guy who’s got half the business now. So we’ve had to adapt our franchises and our messages.
"We’ve been used to using graphics as the selling point for the latest FIFA or Madden. The Wii can’t deliver that, but we’ve come to learn how to adapt to the motion.
"We had a slow start and maybe we were leading on Xbox 360 and PS3 a few years ago and not paying enough attention to the Wii.
"We’ve built teams now that have Wii experience, they’re probably working on their third iteration of Wii games and we’ve learnt some hard lessons about how to make our licenses and our gameplay relevant to the Wii consumer."

wasn't it ALWAYS about having fun? I'm pretty sure it was

Now, while I agree you can have fun with a game, that isn't top-tier in the graphical dept. But, you can have one AND the other, Mr. Moore, that's what it's about, it's about giving the developers the FREEDOM to build whatever they want. You don't kneecap developers by putting out a machine that has less graphical power than a current high-end cellphone. It's asinine and does nothing but set the industry back.
The real issue here, Mr. Moore, is the actual quality of your games sucks. It's not the visuals, it's not the realism, or the physics. EA's games just plain blow. How many times are you going to repackage the same tired baseball/football/soccer/etc... franchises? I mean, from someone who claims graphics don't matter, you've certainly regurgitated enough sports games in prettier packaging to conclude otherwise.
Bottom line, the developers make THEIR games, not some corporate bigwig. Give them the freedom to make whatever they desire, the consumer will decide what's fun, and what's acceptable.

Have you been attending the mandatory 'Hardcore Classes'? You haven't have you? No.
Games are (perm any two)
Art.
Harrrrdcore.
Not for noobz.
Serious bidniz.
All about the gfx.
All about the story.
All about the characters.
All about the combat.
I don't see 'fun' in there. Please redefine your history so that you conform.
