Guitar Hero, World of Warcraft and Call of Duty for Media Breakout?
TV show and movies may be in the works
Posted 8 May 2009

This is according to a Reuters report that cites "people familiar with the discussions". If Guitar Hero does make it to the telly, it will (inevitably) be reality TV.
It might not stop at a TV show, either. There could be a concert tour in the works for Guitar Hero, but exactly what form this would take is unclear.
Activision Blizzard's president and CEO, Bobby Kotick, didn't confirm the news, but he did tell Reuters, "It might make for a good TV show or a good concert tour." Think of it as ActiBliz giving something back to TV. Kotick noted that games (and the GH games in particular) are "capturing leisure time away from TV and film."
As for the WoW and CoD movies - 'discussions are under way' is all that's been reported. That does, it must be said, sound like a much better proposition than another music reality show...
Activision Blizzard just revealed impressive numbers for Guitar Hero and Call of Duty, as well as a raft of Autumn Hero releases.
