ZOMG! What happens when you get a bunch of Hollywood executives who recall when they played video games that, instead of regeneration after regeneration, meant that you had three lives? What happens when they've all seen:
War Games
Blade Runner
Running Man
Tron
You get Gamer (da movie). The trailer below appears to reference all the films above, includes Marilyn Manson's version of Eurythmics' Sweet Dreams, and shows that Gerard Butler and Dexter (sorry, Michael C Hall) are starring. It also includes characters named 'Rick Rape', 'Feek', 'Humanez Dude'.
Plot? Schmot... watch the trailer for that. Okay, in precis: futuristic USA. Game show/MMO in which real people control other real people; no one has survived; Butler is hero... you get the idea.
Basically, it's uber-targeted at you, the Gamer! Now, we can only hope that the trailer translates into a movie that's not patronising, worthless and a gashy cash-in. Enjoy!

Its aimed at us, yes. If its an improvement on the likes of Existence, then I'll check it out. Hope it doesn't feel like I'm giving money, to a devil that just wants to hate on games.
It'll do, til Bioshock and Gears get on the big screen. Or better yet, Turbo, the small budget film that looks awesome, created by people, who it looks like, understand games a bit. Check the Turbo trailer out on you tube.
