Deus Ex 3 Release Date Faint Pointer
Eidos Montreal hints at release info
Posted 13 May 2009

Having recently secured the development rights to Thief 4 (okay 'Thi4f') Eidos Montreal is now actually making noises about a possible release date for Deus Ex 3.
The studio secured the work for DEx3 back in 2007, and as studio general manager Stephane D'Astous tells a local journal, "It's going to be our first project. There's a lot of expectations, very high expectations. Good pressure, as I call it, and the team is working hard. We'll be announcing that type of (release date) information maybe later in the year."
As for Thi4f, the news is even more vague, ""These games are so dense, so huge in their content, it's very very premature at this point to announce even a vague seasonal window for its launch", says D'Astous to The Daily Gleaner.
More solid is the fact that - recession or no recession - the studio is actually taking on new staff. Things are looking good since the Eidos/Squenix marriage.

@SuperSaiyan4 The second one? really? I thought that got universally slammed. I remember is being pig slow on my PC that was admittedly average, but that said, still capable of playing Doom.
I really enjoyed the original Deus Ex, even thought I was a Johnny Come Lately, playing on PS2.

Just remake the original using a modern engine and updated GFX/SFX (the music was perfect, leave it alone!), and I'll be happy!

I'm with your there. Am waiting for Valve to do this with original Half-Life on Source engine. Hmm, whatever to that Black Mesa HL1 mod...
