Sony Ericsson Denies PSP Phone Link Story
Everybody as you were
Posted 21 May 2009

Sony Ericsson is denying rumours this morning that it is going to "roll out an 'Entertainment Unlimited' proposition, which it said would unite the Walkman and Cyber-shot brands under a single name."
This piece of info from Marketing mag lead some games sites to link a statement from SE president, Hideki Komiyama, this month that a PlayStation-branded phone "could happen", and come up with PSP Phone.
Well, according to mobilenews, "Sony Ericsson has hit out at press reports saying it would drop its Walkman and Cybershot handset brands in favour of the 'entertainment unlimited' concept headed up by the ‘Idou’, which features a 12MP camera."
In fact, "A Sony Ericsson spokesperson confirmed: “We do not plan to drop Walkman and Cybershot branded devices from our portfolio in the UK."
Can't say fairer than that.
