E3 '09: New Metroid from Nintendo and Team Ninja
Team Ninja joins Nintendo to make an "edgy" Metroid Game

Samus Aran - Edgy
At Nintendo's press briefing before E3, Reggie Fils-Aime announced a surprise collaboration with Team Ninja called Metroid: Other M, which will be released exclusively for the Wii in 2010.
Described by Reggie as an "edgy" look deeper into Samus Aran's story, very little was given away about the actual plot of the game, but with Team Ninja on the case, we're probably in for a lot of blood.
Of course, we can't help but wonder what sort of game would have emerged if Tomonobu Itagaki was still at Team Ninja. We'd probably be debating the breast physics of a Metroid game for the first time.
We're also interested in exactly how "edgy" a Nintendo game can really get. Nintendo's mantra has always been "fun for all the family" and their games have reflected this. If Team Ninja go over the top on depictions of violence it may tarnish Nintendo's family friendly image.

Well... I'm not a fan of the suit design in the brief trailer, but it looks like a mashup of Ninja Gaiden and Samus. Her suit has that weird mucousy glistening sheen that you seen in Ninja Gaiden games... which really is nowhere near as classy as Retro Studio's take.
