Rare Working on Natal Projects
Details still hush-hush
Posted 5 Jun 2009

2009 might have served up a quiet E3 for Rare, but that doesn't mean the developer hasn't been beavering away at projects tied to one of the biggest reveals of the show - Microsoft's motion-sensing Natal.
"Rare is intimately involved with Project Natal in a number of different dimensions", Shane Kim (corporate VP of strategy and business development at Microsoft’s game division) told Kotaku.
"They're doing an awful lot of work, even outside the traditional game space, I would say. Unfortunately I can't go into a lot of detail about that. Rare is alive and well and really having a broader impact on the entire Xbox world than just doing the games they traditionally have in the past", Kim continued.
A Natal teaser video starring Lionhead boss Peter Molyneux was shown off by Microsoft, who will now oversee Rare as creative director of Microsoft Game Studios.
Rare is no stranger to having "a broader impact on the entire Xbox world" - it worked on the avatars for NXE.

Who Knows?
Well Studio Manager Mark Betteridge said "Killer Instinct is an IP that is fondly remembered and we may do something with it, but it's a tricky market to be like the old Killer Instinct,"
