BioWare, the developer of Mass Effect and Star Wars: The Old Republic, has teased that it might have a Wii bun in the oven.

Speaking in an interview with Industry Gamers BioWare founder, Ray Muzyka, said, "We'd be intrigued by the idea of developing on Wii but we have nothing to announce right now. We do have some unannounced projects that we're not ready to talk about yet, and they are different from some things we've done in the past..."

OK, so that's a looooong way from confirmation. But - why mention those unannounced projects so close to talk about how intriguing the Wii is if the two weren't connected? Given EA's ownership of BioWare and fondness for supporting the Wii, we'd be surprised if BioWare doesn't produce a game for Nintendo's console at some point.

In any case, should a Wii game tumble forth from BioWare's loins, it sounds like it won't be a PC or PS3/360 game crammed onto the Wii. "Our goal, really long-term, is to broaden our base and continue to differentiate and have diversity of choice on different platforms, because we know there are different audiences on platforms like mobile and Wii, and different geographic markets and distribution and business models. It's exciting, but you can't do all things at one time", said Muzyka.

Mass Effect on Wii, anyone? Good luck...
