The Times reports Kotick as stating, "They (Sony) have to cut the price, because if they don't, the attach rates [the number of games each console owner buys] are likely to slow. If we are being realistic, we might have to stop supporting Sony."
He then proceeds to date the threat.
“When we look at 2010 and 2011, we might want to consider if we support the console — and the PSP [portable] too."
Looks like Activision really does want a PS3 price cut.

That seems like the way to sort things out! It would be nice if they did the same for the Wii... ;)

If more hardware sells then attach rates will go down! The only way for attach rates to go up is if more games are sold per console, which means more compelling content.
I think he meant game sales, not attach rates.
