LucasArts has an announcement coming today - one that apparently relates to an old IP.

The publisher has been drip-feeding teases into the world about it via Twitter all weekend. In chronological order, they look like this:

"Amazing news coming Monday! Super excited! You have no idea how tough it is not to start yelling about it! But it's secret! Until Monday!

"Okay, we will do hints. It is awesome news for our old school fans. (anything more direct might get me in trouble)"

Asked if its Monkey Island: "Nope".

In response to Twitter user Daniel Sneed tweeting, "Since you said old-school fans...I'm guessing it's something to do with Dark Forces and not Battlefront 3", LucasArts said, "It doesn't have to do with any specific intellectual property..."

Kotaku ran a story suggesting it might be related to Battlefront 3 and Dark Obi Wan. "Oh, Kotaku. Reading too much into what I wrote. I still love you guys though. The hint: Not a new IP, but a treat for our old school fans", came the LucasArts response.

Finally: "Last hint: someone guessed it dead on. With that, I am off to bed. You'll know more in 12 or so hours. You guys are all awesome." So, more should be coming this afternoon.
