Take-Two CEO Ben Feder states, "We felt that it was essential to invest the additional time to ensure that this title will deliver what its fans expect and deserve."
This ties in with the recent news that there are now four studios on the BioShock 2 job.
In terms of dates, Take-Two spokesman, Alan Lewis, has stated said that the game will be out in the first half of the fiscal year 2010, which runs from 1st November.
For his part, Feder then blames the delay to BioShock 2 for apparent delays to other T2 titles, saying, "As a result, we will now be launching sequels to several of our strongest franchises - including BioShock 2, Mafia II, Max Payne 3 and Red Dead Redemption - during the next fiscal year."
We're not sure how a delay to add more development goodness to one game should, as a result, delay four others.
