Things have been reeaaaaallll quiet from Ninja Theory since Heavenly Sword came out, but the silence has been broken. The developer is teaming up with Namco Bandai for its next game.

The title is an original IP due to hit the PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2010.

Sounds like a good idea, eh? You probably want to know more, like us. Tough doo-doo. "...more details on the game will be divulged in the coming months", the announcement tells us.

Instead, here's some gubbins from Nina Kristensen, co-founder and 'chief development ninja' at Ninja Theory, about how the game is being pushy. "This new project pushes our core strengths of rich story-telling, cutting-edge technology and exciting gameplay beyond anything we have created before.”

While the exact reasons for a Heavenly Sword sequel never emerging are unclear, Ninja Theory dev 'Peonic' did say last year that a sequel from his company is "extremely unlikely".

that's a shame, Heavenly Sword is a pretty cool game and deserves a sequel.
