Official PlayStation Magazine's Australian Trauma
Derwent Howard, a company set up by former Future Publishing staffers Nathan Berkley and Jim Flynn, and which published the Australian Official PlayStation magazine is to be wound up. This comes shortly after publishing rights to the title were moved to a new publisher: Media Factory, the sole director of which is Jim Flynn.

This comes after news that Berkley had left Australia for Spain, apparently not to return. Managing director, Nick Cutler has also resigned. Derwent Howard had, until recently, published several of Future's high profile tech and games titles. It also produced the Gameplayer website, as well as publishing Australian 360 and Ultimate Nintendo magazines.

Have future publishing got, or tried to have, anything to do with spong? I seem to rememebr when they pretty much owned the monopoly on printed publications in the industry and wondered if they've ever tried to muscle in on you guys?

@Alex I think there's a tenuous link, but that was a long time ago. I can't really speak on it as it was before my time. All I remember is reading an issue of NGC as a kid and seeing the back page with a send up of Spong. "Nintendospong" I think they called it. It wasn't very funny.
