Tomb Raider co-creator, Toby Gard, who left developer Crystal Dynamics this week, wants to make it clear that everything's lovely regarding the split.

"It was amicable", he told VG247. So, what happened? "I can’t really discuss it. I might have to go into what was going on inside Crystal Dynamics, and I don’t really want to talk about any of their stuff. I’m under NDA, anyway", he continued.

He is now acting as a games consultant.

He should have left ages ago. Years have passed since Tomb Raider became a big hit. Gard should have been working on fresh IP by now. Whether it was his choice to keep pushing TR on us all, I guess we'll find out.

Good luck to him, and hopefully he'll come up with something new.

To be fair, he left Eidos before Tomb Raider II and he only came back for Legend, Anniversary and Underworld.
