More revelations emerge from the apparently leaked SEGA/SCEA August 5th meeting notes.

If the notes are real, rather than a dummy dropped into the SEGA FTP server maliciously, then it would appear that SCEA doesn't have much time for SEGA's Alpha Protocol.

"Michael Foster, product evaluator, said AP felt barely RPG. Initial level too challenging for players. 'Mass Effect felt more RPG.'"

Foster is indeed on the team, having worked on Star Ocean among others.

We have contacted SEGA for official comment on the document.

They might as well just add a WIN GAME NOW to games if Mass Effect Jr. of all games is too challenging.

This isn't surprising, since Sony have The Agency, which is similar in spy/agent style shennigans.

If it's 'barely rpg', what genre exactly best describes it? Guess its going to be a good while until Sega have something jrpg on par with Mass Effect.

I actually like more challenge in my games, I felt Mass Effect was actually too easy. RPG or not, I'd rather get this for PS3, it'll look sweet running at 1080p.
