IGN reports that the Nintendo Wii version of upcoming title Tony Hawk: Ride will give players the ability to skate, grind and pull off tricks using their user-created Wii Miis.

Alongside the large roster of professional skaters, you can take to the park with a character created on the Wii's Mii Channel. Apparently the game's producer, Yale Miller, kept asking Nintendo for permission to implement the feature, which was given the go ahead after the console manufacturer "liked what they saw".

Exclusive features that the Wii version will have over the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions also include two unique levels, but the trade-off is the lack of an online mode on Nintendo's platform.

We wonder what it was that Nintendo liked about the game. A demonstration of the skateboarding peripheral perhaps? Seeing giant bobbleheaded characters stacking it over railings? Whatever the reason, it opens up the possibility of future Mii inclusion on more third party titles.
