A billboard from a filmset has apparently thrown up a clue as to when we might see Resistance 3.

Don't expect to see the board at the end of your road. It was spotted by NeoGAF user goldsoundz in Shreveport, Louisiana. GAFfers reckon the film in question is Battle: Los Angeles, which is being produced by Columbia, which is owned by... yes, Sony!

The film is due out in February 2011, so it seems likely that the game will follow later in the year.

The imagery in the text seems to indicate a New York setting. Also, something on that billboard has been blacked out...

So, hooray for random sightings of film props, we guess.
