At least not for a couple of months

Says Mr Dennis to Matt Peckham at PC World, "I don't foresee a scenario where we're going to double the price of LIVE any time in the next couple (of) months".
Dennis also takes the chance to point out that "The 360's clearly a powerful piece of hardware that can hold its own against anyone", before pointing out that the Microsoft console might not be selling as well as a few months ago, is still high on the revenue stakes.
"(Attach Rates are) 4.1 for us, 2.2 for PS3, and 3.4 for the Wii. That mirrors software too. We typically have a very high attach rate, which--getting back to total dollars spent--shows the high level of consumer engagement with the platform. They don't just buy it once with the pack-in game, then sit around and not use it. They're out actively spending, which is great for the industry."

These analysts aren't always right, just look at what the same dude said about Borderlands, which is selling really well for 2K/Gearbox, even sold out in some places.
If anything, I think MS should drop the price of 12 Mth Live cards a bit. Officially ,the price is £39.99, but we all know if you hunt around, they can be found for about £25-30. If more people knew this, more might get a 12 month subscription, IMO.
The more positive thing to do, would be to give 3-6 month cards away with 360s. Just enough, so silver members can get a good taste of the gold experience and advantages.

If it goes up in price, I for one will not be using it anymore. Both the Wii and PS3 offer free online play, though not as good as Xbox 360. If this does happen it could be the first nail in the coffin for Microsoft. and their Xbox.
