UPDATE: As of about a minute ago we have now managed to get the demo downloading. All seems right with the world.
Damn it. Were you trying to download the Left 4 Dead 2 demo from Xbox Marketplace? Did you get: Status Code: 80004005 and the message "Can't retrieve information from Xbox Live. Please try again later"?
We did. Shame. Microsoft, in the form of Xbox Community Manager, Europe Graeme Boyd, is aware of this turmoil and general sadness and has tweeted:
"AAARGH! Still issues with the Left 4 Dead demo, so sorry for the confusion, no more posts until we're absolutely sure it's fixed..."
