And this is what Jack White of the White Stripes said in June:
"It's depressing to have a label come and tell you that ['Guitar Hero'] is how kids are learning about music and experiencing music."
This is because, he didn't want to dictate which "format people should get their music in…if you have to be in a video game to get in front of them, that's a little sad."
So, The White Stripes Pack 01 for Rock Band has Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground, Girl, You Have No Faith in Medicine, and Icky Thump. Can anybody say, "Kerching!"
The Damned's track is Smash It Up (Part 2), while Kasabian, unsurprisingly, brings Club Foot to the party.
Available on Xbox 360 and Wii on November 10th and PlayStation 3 on November 12th.
• The Damned – “Smash It Up (Part II)” +
• Kasabian – “Club Foot” +
• The White Stripes – “Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground” +
• The White Stripes – “Girl, You Have No Faith in Medicine” +
• The White Stripes – “Icky Thump”

Well, what can you say? Money talks.

Might be worth pointing out that a Raconteurs track pack for Guitar Hero World Tour was released last year, long before he made those comments. So it isn't exactly an about turn, and the record labels own the copyright and licensing rights to the songs anyway, so there's not a great deal he can do about it.
