Pachter: Industry Will Recover In 2010
You just know you're in for a good day when you're subject to a Pach-Attack. Wedbush Securities analyst Michael Pachter has declared that “industry sales will rebound in 2010” during an investor note on US retailer Gamestop.

Pachter says that while the industry will recover, it is predicted that Wii sales will “stagnate” (what a surprise), and that Gamestop in particular will benefit from the avalanche of software that is hitting store shelves this quarter.

“The company's appeal to hardware gamers will become increasingly important as Wii sales stagnate and Q1's long-awaited slate of games (Army of Two: The 40th Day, BioShock 2, Gran Turismo 5 and Splinter Cell Conviction etc) comes to market,” are the Pach's exact words, stating that Gamestop will post a four per cent year-on-year sales increase for January.

So more games, and more people buying games can only mean good news for the industry at large. But, 'hardware gamers', that's got to be a new term hasn't it? Always pushing the boundaries, is our Michael.
