UK Games Charts: Week 6 Bioshock 2 Bigger than Mass Effect 2
BioShock 2 over-takes Mass Effect 2 as biggest release of the year.
2K's BioShock 2 heads into the UK video game, all format, full price chart at... Number 1. There, we thought you'd be surprised.
You're not? Well, it doesn't matter because facts are facts. Another fact - from Chart Track, the chart compiler is that "Bioshock 2 saw a Tuesday release and overtakes Mass Effect 2 as the biggest release this year so far".
Other facts are that, "Ubisoft’s Just Dance shows great legs staying at No2 again this week, followed by EA’s FIFA 10, which is up 53% in sales and has moved up two places to No3 thanks to price promotions."
In a blow to EA's pride, "Last week’s No1, EA’s ‘Mass Effect 2’, has dropped down to No8 with a decrease of 58% of sales. EA’s Dante’s Inferno also has a heavy drop from No4 to No9".
Now, here is a surprise Bayonetta goes up from No38 to No10.

I am sorry but I own both games and Mass Effect 2 is so superior to Bioshock in every department. I understand it's appeal to a broader spectrum of people but most would tell you that the biggest game of the year so far is in fact ME2, and will probably be their game of the year

Bioshock 2 bigger then mass effect 2? How meny units has it sold? Last I heard ME2 sold 3.9m worldwide in two weeks. Just because it has entered the charts at no. 1 does not mean anything.

bearing in mind that me2 wa sonly for 360 and pc, think bioshock is on all formats so probably gave it the upper hand. i have played the first bioshock and have to agree the mass effect series is far superior, a more involevd story and range of areas to explore make it immense also the character interaction is far deeper, was not a fan of bioshock 1, its basically a fps on a submarine i felt after seeing the first couple of areas youd seen it all

I like them both but i must admit bioshock is a perfect game to play stoned or drunk

Bio2 appeals more to the mass market, but quality wise mass effect 2 is much better.
