Digital-Only Kills Tomb Raider - Saves Lara Croft
Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light to be a fresh start.
The Tomb Raider series has received a major shake-up today, with the announcement of Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light, a digitally distributed title that aims to rejuvenate the adventure series.
Crystal Dynamics is working on the game, which may explain the focus on digital software - the studio has had a hard time of it since the underperforming Tomb Raider: Underworld. Recent talk of efforts to reboot the treasure-hunting series also explains the name change.
The changes don't stop at the lack of the 'Tomb Raider' moniker though, as Crystal Dynamics' general manager Darrell Gallagher says that the studio has created "something completely new and very different to what people might be expecting."
"Lara Croft is such an iconic character in videogames, with Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light we have created what we believe is a truly original digital experience," Gallagher explained. The game will be released in 2010.

Price point is the matter here...first, the price of as download only game and second the hard disk.
For me, I won't pay more than £8ish for a DL only game and the fact that MS charge so much for their HDs I try to avoid clogging mine up with games.

They've threatened to drop the Tomb Raider name before, but always bottled it. Let's hope they finally stick to it. They should have done that long ago.
If they follow a model like the recent Monkey Island games, the episodic thing should work fine. Hope there's a fairly decent game at the end of it.

i was going to say some thing like that i feel that uncharted has killed tomb raider underworld was nothing on uncharted 2 and i dont like downloading games i feel that its killing the high streets
