The rumour mill is circling Sony's motion controller - supposedly named 'Arc' - this week ahead of the official Game Developers Conference festivities, with a NeoGAF forum poster claiming he/she/it has seen the device and revealing the possible button configuration for the peripheral.

As well as requiring the PlayStation Eye, Sony are set to release a Nunchuk-like add-on to the Arc, which will feature "an analog stick at the front, below that X and O and below that a D pad," according to the post. "Underneath is L1 and L2. Its actually long, not like the Wii Nunchuk."

The wand itself will have a large button at the top, along with all four face buttons (X, O, Square and Triangle) below it. A trigger named 'T' will be underneath the wand. This description is in keeping with patent images filed by Sony back in December.

It is suggested that the reason the X and O buttons are repeated on the 'Nunchuk' peripheral is so players can just use the wand for certain games, and both devices for more hardcore uses.

Please clarify: are they intending to ship the Arc w/o the 'nunchuck'? Cause, if so, you can pretty much forget about there being more than three games that support it.
