PlayStation Move: First Games and Developer Support

36 companies on board to make games for the device.

Sony announced that along with its internal studios, around 36 third party companies will also be creating games for its motion-sensing PlayStation Move peripheral.

The list contains big names such as Capcom, Sega, Activision, Square Enix, Konami and Ubisoft. Besides a motion-controlled tweak of Resident Evil 5 though, we don't know what kinds of projects these companies are working on. Those details will most likely come from each respective company at E3 or Tokyo Game Show this year.

But Sony did demonstrate a selection of games it has lined up for the device's launch. Sports Champions lets you play a thrilling round of Archery, gladiator combat or... Table Tennis. We wonder if this game will be packaged with the Move peripheral. Would make sense. "Motion Fighter" is the working title of Sony's street fighting game, and is said to be 20 per cent complete so far. "Move Party" works a little like Eye Toy Play. Screens of all of these can be found in the image gallery above.

Recently announced squad title SOCOM 4 will also be using the Move controller, and there's even a port of a Wii game revealed already. Warner Bros' upcoming Lord of the Rings title, Aragorn's Quest, will be making an appearance on the PlayStation 3 and taking advantage of the Move technology. It was originally slated for the Wii and DS, but has been delayed to accommodate Sony's new controller.

Now that you mention it, I would really like to see Samba de Amigo attempted here. The Wii version was very inaccurate. >_> Something like this would make it actually enjoyable. :3

Monster Hunter Tri though, I don't know. Capcom put it on the Wii mostly because it cuts on the studio's development costs rather than motion controls - the game features little to none of it.
