ELSPA has launched a guarded attack on the Conservative party for the latter's failure to disclose a promised policy regarding tax breaks and the UK's video games industry.

Back in April, Tory spokesman with reference to video games, Ed Vaizey, told Develop, that: "“We’ll be publishing details of our support for the videogame industry very shortly. "I can assure you that all the details will be published next week and that will include details for our support for video game tax breaks."

There is still no sign of any such detail. This has lead ELSPA director general, Mike Rawlinson, to demand, that "the Conservatives... publish their mini manifesto on creative industries before May 6th. The Conservative Party has spoken on numerous occasions of their commitment towards the videogames industry and creative industries in general, and our importance in helping to provide a more balanced UK economy.

"We therefore call on the Party to officially publish their intentions for the games industry and the creative sector as a whole. There are only 2 days left until polling day. It is essential that the Conservatives let the many millions of voters who work in the games business, enjoy our products and benefit from the positive economic and cultural impact we provide, their commitment to our industry.”

The tories, no policies (at least none that make sense for anyone but the super-rich) and no message but fear of another five years of Brown.

You can tel the UK faces a quality election when both of the "major" parties are urging voters to vote for the Lib Dems in preference to each other. I think everyone should vote Lib Dem regardless, and show the Red vs Blue parties that there actually IS a "third way"!
