Oh dear, it appears that video games and TV are distracting 5-18 year-olds from the fear of the imminent destruction of planet earth. So says a recent Airbus inspired survey.
Says the survey, "The Airbus Bio-Index shows there is work to be done. In many countries, the next generation has a reputation for being glued to the virtual world and the survey highlights the implications this has for the future of the real world.
"When asked to rank what was most important to them, ten times more children ranked watching TV or playing computer games first compared to those who chose saving the environment (40 percent and 4 percent respectively). And while species extinction rates are estimated to be up to 1,000 times the natural rate, only 9 percent ranked looking after animals as most important; 15 percent did not know what endangered species implied."
It's the end of the world as we know it.

Yeah, plane companies sponsor stuff like this to throw people off the trail of their emissions. But a survey of children? Come on, they're kids. They can worry when they become adults.
Still, it's obvious the way you reported it leads me to see it as an attack on gaming, and get all defensive. A click through to the press release shows an attempt at some Greenwave initiative, getting kids interested in the environment, which sounds kinda cool, but I haven't clicked as far as the greenwave site to see what it's about yet.
I remember chocolate Animal Bars got my sister interested in the wildlife foundation (WWF) when she was young.
