For a second week running Red Dead Redemption has managed to hold off Super Mario Galaxy 2 from the top of the UK Software Charts (courtesy Chart-Track). That's despite a 24% sales drop for the former, and a 29% drop for the latter. 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa sticks at #3 despite a 16% boost.

(1) - 1 - Red Dead Redemption - Take 2 - (5)
(2) - 2 - Super Mario Galaxy 2 - Nintendo - (2)
(3) - 3 - 2010 Fifa World Cup South Africa - Electronic Arts - (8)
(5) - 4 - Just Dance - Ubisoft - (29)
(4) - 5 - Rooms: The Main Building - Nintendo - (3)
(7) - 6 - Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - Activision Blizzard - (32)
(12) - 7 - Prince Of Persia: The Forgotten Sands - Ubisoft - (5)
(6) - 8 - Wii Fit Plus - Nintendo - (34)
(11) - 9 - Blur - Activision Blizzard - (4)
(10) - 10 - Wii Sports Resort - Nintendo - (48)

Just Dance and Rooms: The Main Building have traded places this week, while Modern Warfare 2 climbs to #6 ahead of the latest Prince of Persia game - The Forgotten Sands has seen a boost in sales due to a price reduction. Speaking of re-entries, Bizarre's Blur speeds its way back into #9, a welcome comeback.

It's a week of no new entries for the Top 10, as International Cricket 2010 debuts at #12 and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker enters the ranking at #18.

No, it's not DESPITE those drops. It's BECAUSE of those drops. When the game in second place has a larger percentage fall in sales than the game in first place, it is bound to remain below it in the charts, irregardless of whether they retain 1st and 2nd place respectively.
