Viacom gets tax benefits

Harmonix Sold for $50
A recent article has revealed that Rock Band developer Harmonix has been sold for $49.99 - that's one cent less than the full retail price of Rock Band 3 the game in the USA.

Investment group Columbus Nova has paid the apparently paltry sum to parent company Viacom. It has also taken on the Viacom's liabilities in relation to Harmonix. These include payment of fees for music rights, and unsold copies of Harmonix titles and peripherals.

The sale price will also enable former parent company Viacom to recoup some tax.

Any thoughts on the seemingly disposable income sale of Harmonix? Feel free to post them in the Comments section below.
