Naughty Dog Co-Founder is New President of THQ
Surprise! THQ has appointed a new president to run the publisher's worldwide product development - and it's Naughty Dog co-founder Jason Rubin. As he enters, charismatic Core games EVP Danny Bilson exits - he will be leaving the company to reportedly pursue other interests.

Rubin joins THQ after helping to establish the PlayStation-allied studio behind Crash Bandicoot, Jak and Daxter and Uncharted. His day-to-day will involve marketing and publishing operations of THQ's projects, answering directly to chairman and CEO Brian Farrell. Joining him will be a new Chief Strategy Officer, Jason Kay, who has previously served as an executive at Activision, Columbia and HBO.

It seems that Bilson's work in pushing THQ forward as a core games publisher is being continued with Rubin at the helm, with the company stating that the personnel shuffle "comes as THQ realigns its focus from a maker of licensed games for broad audiences to a developer of triple-A core games for multiple platforms."

SVP of Core Studios, Dave Davis, will be leaving with Bilson. No reason was given for the departure.
