There is a quiet murmuring emanating from Japan, questioning whether Super Mario Sunshine will be released on time.

Due out in Japan next month, August in the US and December in Europe, some factors are causing doubt that the game will make its target dates.

To date, no complete reviews of SMS have surfaced, even though the game is supposed to be finished. Also, many Japanese retailers and exporters have yet to commence pre-orders. Pricing for the new game is also missing from many of the usual places.
