Vice City runs into trouble down under
Censored version in the works.
Posted 11 Oct 2002

We can reveal that the release of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City has been delayed in Australia, due to the likelihood of it running into trouble with the government.
As you may remember, GTA 3, the last ultraviolent outing from Take 2, was recalled in Australia, due to bypassing the governmental process of ratings before going on general release. You may not know that a government body decides all game ratings down under, not an industry body like ELSPA or ESRB.
It is thought likely that several scenes of a more adult nature will have to be cut out of the game when it eventually goes on sale down under.
