Microsoft has made the unprecedented move of releasing a budget range in the US, a little after a year since the machine launched in the region. Carrying the Sony-infuriating Platinum Hits moniker, sixteen titles will be available for the staggeringly low price of $19.99, which converts to just over £12.

The list of games is:

Amped: Freestyle Snowboarding
Blood Wake
Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex
James Bond 007 in Agent Under Fire
Max Payne
Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee
Project Gotham Racing
Rallisport Challenge
Silent Hill 2
Simpsons Road Rage
Spy Hunter
SSX Tricky
Star Wars: Obi-Wan
Star Wars: Starfighter Special Edition
Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 3
Wreckless: The Yakuza Missions

It is widely expected that Microsoft’s European Xbox team will be announcing a similar move within the next few weeks. We’ll bring you confirmation as we get it.
