GameCube Demo Disc Hits US
US gets Japan treatment, this time with Egg
Posted 21 May 2003

Billy Hatcher
The disc released includes playable versions of Sonic Team's Billy Hatcher and the Giant Egg, Viewtiful Joe from Capcom, Sonic Team's Sonic Adventure DX (complete with a Game Gear title), Splinter Cell, and Soul Calibur II.
There are also video presentations of Amusement Vision's newly renamed F-Zero GX, Nintendo's Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker, Lucas Arts' Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike and EA's NCAA Football 2004 and Madden NFL 2004.
However, the method of distribution has changed somewhat from that enjoyed by Japanese gamers, where the disc was given away free to anyone buying a GameCube game. In the US, the disc will cost $10 - quite a lot for what would arguably be obtained free on the front of a magazine if the GameCube was any other machine.
We contacted Nintendo Europe over the possibility of a similar European release but, at time of going to press, no one seemed to know.
