We have received word from our man in the US that Silicon Knights is currently working alongside Konami to deliver a version of Metal Gear Solid 2 for the Nintendo GameCube.

As you may be aware, Silicon Knights is the firm chosen to co-create the GameCube exclusive MGS: Twin Snakes.

The rumour mill suggests that MGS 2 will release alongside Twin Snakes, making a Solid Snake super-happy party for GameCube owners everywhere. Konami declined to comment on the rumours this morning.

However, according to various Konami insiders, this is not happening, which is a shame really. Still we live in hope…
