As we revealed back on July 16, Rockstar Games last night confirmed what we had known for some time: Xbox will get its Grand Theft Auto games.

Indeed, the Xbox will see both GTA3 and Vice City released side by side in a double game pack, due to hit US retail in time for Christmas. No word yet on the European release, but stay tuned for an announcement in the next few weeks.

Having already shifted more that 25 million units, the GTA franchise is the biggest game on Planet Earth at the moment. The signing is also testament to the fact that no third-party franchise is safe from the cash-powered monster that is Microsoft Xbox.
