When we first got our filthy mitts on a playable DS, Namco's Pac-Pix was one of those titles that seemed to work extremely well using the handheld's unique features. Indeed, from the follow-up information provided today, it looks like very little has changed from that early demonstration stage. The graphics have been smartened ever so slightly, but the peculiar and happy-making gameplay core has been retained in full.

Pac-Pix essentially sees the player having to scribble out a small pac-man silhouette on the lower touch-screen with the use of the stylus. The self-drawn character then munches off in the direction his mouth is facing - as decided by the artist/player. It's the kind of game that could prove more addictive than all manner of things that are known to be extremely addicitive, and it is likely to be a key weapon in the DS arsenal when it launches Stateside in the not-too distant future.

Namco has kindly offered up these illustrations to help describe Pac-Pix via your eyes, but if it still makes no sense, rest assured that as soon as you've sampled Pac-Pix in motion, the penny will drop immediately.
