PSP – Final European date revealed
By accident. Drum roll please

We understand that this is hardly earth-shattering, given that this period has been widely touted for several weeks, though it’s always nice to have an actual, tangible date.
In other news, SCEE is leaning heavily on the retail sector for the PSP’s launch, with one anonymous source telling us, “Sony is basically saying it wants to ‘own entire stores’ though it still won’t commit to [PSP hardware and/or software] numbers.”
Which again raises the question of hardware availability of Sony. Although the lack of PS2 hardware is largely spin (we believe about 90% spin in fact, given recent retail movements) the shortage of PSP units is a reality in Japan and there is only a finite window in which any company can spin manufacturing shortcomings as overwhelming popular demand; especially in the face of the rumoured 200,000 ship figure currently doing the rounds.
However, the PSP is still perhaps the sexiest thing ever made by a human. Swings and roundabouts we suppose…

Spong I applaud you for using a very, very nice graphic for the PSP (bravo!)
Yes, Sony is a marketing machine. They could market oxygen and sell it for a premium and people would be lining up to buy it. So far the system looks to be on the right track. Sony knows that its an expensive venture and how to tackle it. They are taking 1 baby step at a time. Hopefully they will succeed but not overpower Nintendo's Dominance. Nintendo just needs a competitor for once. They are getting away with murder on there systems. Having a competitor will give us better games and lower prices.

I do agree Nintendo need a competitor, so perhaps it's Sony we should be thanking for the DS too.

Sony do love to hype things up, but what company doesn't these days? Anything almost seems fair game to increase sales, but so be it. We hate being lied to, but sometimes you just wanna play something while not having to look over stats of popularity before you buy.
It's only the muppet mainstream masses, that would rush out and buy something, because you might not get one due to apparent stock shortages.
Don't believe the hype, but if it is true learn some patience and wait.
